Day 95-102: Over 100 days of Roaming!

We made it to the big 100! We haven't had many adventures in the last few weeks, so this week we had two. We went on a hike by Estes Park where we saw Big Horn Sheep. They were so close, but we kept a safe distance. The hike was beautiful. Brandon and I also went climbing this past weekend. This time we brough Bruce. Bruce is officially a climbing dog. He did so great, hanging out while we climbed, getting all the pets from people.

After our climb we stopped at a beer garden that was on our way home. This place had a fantastic view of the mountains. We were out back having our beer, Bruce with us, then the wind picked up again. We brought Bruce in the bar where there was live music! Bruce in a bar was great. Dana and Alanna met us there and we snacked on some munchies before parting ways.

It snowed mid-week, then was gone by the next day. It was great to see snow, feel cold, and cozy up. Brandon and I also put up more of our wallpaper this week. We finished my office 'nook', and it is adorable. Now we just need curtains, and this tiny part of the RV is complete. We have been looking at more ideas for colors and designs throughout, but nothing is set in stone yet. Alanna and I went shopping the other day and bought new items for her room. She has a new comfy rug, a new comforter, we put up some macramé on the sliding doors, and added more curtains to her room. It is looking nice and cozy in there! We are definitely decorating in greens and blues.

We have become friends with our neighbors, which makes life much easier. We had dinner with them Wednesday night between our RVs and went out to dinner on Friday to a really good Italian restaurant. Liking your neighbors when you are living this close is a definite plus. It could be hell if you don't like them and have to see each other every day. Our RVs are set up opposite ways, so our "front doors" face each other. They also have a super cute dog, Dusty! Bruce and Dusty are pals.

Today Brandon and I officially became lead (sport) climbing certified at the gym. Now we can practice inside for our outdoor climbing adventures. There is a definite difference between top rope climbing and sport climbing; physically and mentally.

I added all the photos to the end, and they are slightly jumbled. Enjoy the picture of Socks laying on Bruce who is laying on Alanna while we watch Enola Holmes (good movie!). This week we are going to attempt to head out to Winter Park and go skiing!

Things we learned:

  • Bruce is a good climbing dog. He stayed right with us
  • The approach was only 600 yards this time (zig zagging all the way up)
  • Beer tastes better in a beer garden where there is a band with a saxophone
  • Snowing in Colorado isn't like snowing in Buffalo
  • People in Colorado don't like to drive in the snow and/or they don't know how to

365 Days of Roaming!

Today is the official 365th day of being on the road. It's crazy to think about all we have done in the last 365 days, and even crazier...
