Brandon took the truck to get the valve stem fixed on an inner tire. In typical Brandon fashion, he started talking to the people that worked there and came back with a plethora of information about them. The guy working on the tire has a son who lives in Alaska, and his son is one of the few people in the world to complete the Iron Man competition in Alaska. IMAlaska (ironman.com) His son is also a co-create of FrogFuel - Liquid Collagen Protein – Frog Fuel Collagen Protein. You never know who you are going to meet. Because of their conversations, fixing our valve stem was free of charge.
In the afternoon Brandon an Alexis went around car shopping. We have the '99 Grand Marquis that we thought could be a good fit for Alexis, but after driving it all the way down to Florida we think maybe something more practical. So, we have a budget and a few vehicles in mind. The car shopping as unsuccessful, so they may go off Friday to Tampa or Orlando to see what they can find. There really isn't much around here (Bushnell).
After that we went and splashed around in the pool. Alexis and Ariana both said they will go, but they are NOT getting in the pool. Even if they get in the pool, they are NOT getting their hair wet. I love it when they regress to kids and forget their teenage attitudes. These dorks had a blast in the pool swimming around and playing pool games with their father. I also enjoyed the pool, but my time was limited to ensure I did not get sunburned.
Brandon found what seemed to be a promising car dealership, so they ventured out again on a 40-minute drive to see what they could find. The place was closed, and the cars online did not look like the cars in the lot. However, they did get horchata, which is a sugar, cinnamon, milk, and rice drink. So, they were happy! Not long after Brandon and Alexis came home, the sky got dark, and the wind picked up. This was our first experience with crazy wind gusts and our awnings being down. It came on so quickly and I tried to get the awning in, but the wind had control. Luckily nothing was damaged, but by the time we got the awning all set the wind was gone. Crazy Florida weather!
Tacos were for dinner. We always love a good taco night! I did forget to get something sweet for dessert, and these girls don't forget about a sweet treat after dinner. While we watched "The Other Guys" (hilarious movie), I made chocolate covered pretzels. Some had sprinkles, and some had peanut butter drizzles. Their sweet cravings were crushed!
We also have our Waggle set up finally. Waggle is a 4GLTE temperature, humidity, and power monitor that sends messages to your phone if the temperature exceeds what temperature you set it to, or if the power goes out. It is to alert you when you have pets in your RV. Much like a vehicle, if this power goes out and the AC cannot run it will heat up very quickly. Waggle will give us peace of mind if we all have to leave the RV.
Brandon connected the RV control panel to the Wi-Fi and downloaded the app. He can now see everything on the control panel on his phone and control the RV as well. He may have had too much fun turning the light on and off in the garage on the girls. The fact that we can connect and control the RV from our phones is great! If we forget to close the awnings before we left, we can do it from the phone. If it gets dark and we want to turn a light on for the animals, we can do it from the phone.
Things we learned today:
- I had my Sim card in completely wrong, which is why my Winegard Wi-Fi wouldn't work. We are all good now though!
- Talk to people like they are people. You never know who you are going to meet.
- As grown as our girls think they are, they can still let loose and have fun playing games.
- I can still create things in my kitchen on wheels.
- If you are in this specific area of Florida, bring your awnings in around 5pm daily. That's when the weather changes.
