Day 16 & 17 - Last full days in Florida

Sunday was a day of mostly rest. It rained for quite some time, and we all napped at some point during the day. We also made a trip to Walmart for some groceries and items before our travel. On our way to Walmart the dash went out again on the truck. Slightly frustrating, but we knew it wouldn't affect our moving day.  Brandon disconnected the battery in the truck to see if it would reset the dash, and it did! But then the truck wouldn't start. We had a bad battery. AutoZone was still open, so he went to get a new battery. Little did we know our truck has two! When one battery goes, you have to replace both to make sure you aren't draining an old one, blah blah blah. Lucky us, we now have two brand new batteries and a fully functioning dashboard!

Update on animals: Alfred roamed around the RV a bit, really loved sitting on top of the couch to look out the window. Socks even got a little adventurous and joined us on the patio for a quick second. Bruce has been indulging in some snacks in the form of Sock's food... he is on the naughty list for sure, but he is still adorable!

There are these awesome Cranes here; they look prehistoric, and they are huge!

Today Brandon and I finished registering the truck and motorcycle. I absolutely love going to the DMV in little country areas. The people are so helpful, polite, and efficient. Today is the official last full day so we started packing up our RV. We are figuring this stuff out; we are getting better at it for sure! Alanna was a great help as well, and she barely complained. We took a mid-day break to beat the heat and went to the pool one last time.

This was a great first extended stop. It was quiet here, and the pool was great! All in all, Blueberry Hill RV Park in Bushnell, FL, was a 9 out of 10.

We will be traveling for the next 4 days to our next longer-term destination: Arkansas. Tomorrow we travel to Georgia, then Alabama, then Mississippi, then Arkansas. We will spend one day in each state until we get to Arkansas. What's in Arkansas? We still don't know, but I see tubing down the river and white water rafting in our near future! I'm hoping for hiking as well.

Update on our deodorant adventure: It smells really good so far, but we are missing the antiperspirant aspect. Good think we don't know anyone!

Things we learned:
  • Our truck has two batteries, and you have to replace them both when one goes out.
  • Chicken in the convection oven/microwave/air fryer is really good.
  • Small town DMVs are the best!
  • We still don't love living in Florida
  • Remember to take a mental health break during the day, even if it is just 30 minutes to walk the dog or swim with the family. Work, in any form, will be there when you get back
Much Love,
The Blackshire's

365 Days of Roaming!

Today is the official 365th day of being on the road. It's crazy to think about all we have done in the last 365 days, and even crazier...
