This day never gets easier... never. Brandon is driving Alexis and Ariana back down to South Florida. Alexis has her road test tomorrow, and Ariana is finally getting her permit. She took the test and passed, but never physically went to the DMV to get her ID. Our summer with them is over and we won't see them again until their Spring Break, which we should be in Utah for. They are so grown, who knows how much longer they are going to even want to visit us for. We will hold onto every moment and soak it up as long as we can. For the time being, it is just the three of us.
Today started out interesting. Bruce wouldn't walk any farther this morning because there was a bizarre creature on the sidewalk. I couldn't initially figure out what it was. My first thought was a scorpion, but I don't think those are in Florida. As we got closer, I realized it was a crawfish! Someone's appetizer had escaped and made a mad dash for freedom! Bruce refused to go around, so his morning poop was delayed until the afternoon.
I know none of these blogs are the adventure everyone is looking for. Believe me, I'm ready for adventure in the great outdoors as well but we have to get our ducks in a row so we can move onward and upward! We have to tie up loose ends with our domicile, Alanna's homeschooling, and where we are actually going to be staying in Colorado. We are still figuring this lifestyle out. Every day is something new we discover, or something we find works better for us. So, for now we are all business with a little bit of pleasure. Brandon found a bike trail not too far from here, so I am hoping we can get out there this weekend. The other part of it is that Florida is really, really, obnoxiously hot.
What we learned today:
- "See ya later" never gets easier
- In 365 days, Alexis will be going into her SENIOR YEAR!
- The oven works, and the meatloaf was delicious
Much Love,
The Blackshire's
OMG I think that's a scorpion not a crawfish. Florida has scorpions in central Florida. So beware. Bruce saved you from that walk. What good boy protecting his Mama.
