Day 10 - Alexis got her first car!

That is right, she got a car. Sweet baby Jesus, she has a car. At least this is one thing off of our list, but this is stressful for sure! We got Alexis a 2008 Vovlo XC90. Great safety ratings, which are important, and she loves it! Brandon spent the whole day looking at vehicles and finally this one fit the criteria we were looking for, and mostly the budget. Car shopping is mentally exhausting, Brandon is drained for sure. We are very fortunate that we could make this purchase for our daughter (s). However, we are wondering if we have spoiled them a bit too much. The answer is yes, right? Do we have regrets? Not currently.

During dinner I told the story about how I purchased my first car when I was 15 with my babysitting money. I woke up one morning and the car wasn't there. I freaked out and then found out my dad took the car, then freaked out because "that's my car and he can't just take it when he wants to". Little did my bratty self know, my dad took my car to change the radio out and put in a CD player for my birthday. Insert foot into mouth... Parents do amazing things for their kids; it just takes a little bit for kids to realize it. As long as we can reflect on it at some point, I think we are fine.

Today was my first day back at work after being off for a week. The workday dragged on, then went quick. The animals fell right back into their ways of sleeping around while I work. I swear, they are the laziest, cutest co-workers I have ever had! After work I found an actual grocery store, Winn Dixie, so I could stop giving my money to Walmart every darn day. That place is a trap! We had chicken teriyaki on the baby Blackstone. The ratings for dinner were pretty high from the girls, but I think Alexis would say everything was great regardless. She's on cloud nine!

We were invited to our "neighbors" daughter's 15th birthday party today. I felt bad because Brandon was gone all day with the girls, and I was working, so we didn't attend. I don't think anyone came to her party, which was super sad.

In the community we are in many of the full timers use golf carts to get around. This morning we saw the cutest car/golf cart hybrid ever. We have no idea what the name is or brand. It honestly could have been ordered off of Amazon. Enjoy the picture! Brandon for size reference.

Things we learned:

  • Car shopping sucks even when you are going in with cash. It's just mentally exhausting.
  • Sometimes the person you coparent with doesn't appreciate a damn thing you do, and that's ok. (This is not between Brandon and Me)
  • I forgot about lizards in Florida. They are here.
  • It is sometimes nice to miss the people you love. Today was the first day I was by myself in a very long time. It was nice to miss my family and have them come home to a home cooked meal.
  • Brandon is a great father who would do anything for his kids. I knew this one, I just wanted to mention it again!
Much Love,
The Blackshire's

365 Days of Roaming!

Today is the official 365th day of being on the road. It's crazy to think about all we have done in the last 365 days, and even crazier...
